Firtst the strike, then the hike, such is the Sri Lankan government's strategy to increase prices of products in Sri Lanka. I guess this is a drama that the other coutries could follow too. Hah!
Today morning, thanks to the authorities of Sri Lanka, the prices go up by Rs.5 per litre. Nothing bad but they could rather do it without the strike and chaos involved by the same.
I really feel it is high time the floating price sysytem is followed for fuels in Sri Lanka, thus providing the option of the consumer making the decision with no strings attached. This will also lessen the burden on the government due to the problems with respect to the subsidies. Thus at least for once we shall have a positive balanced budget.
The wierd part is, how come the politicians cannot think like what the rest of the public do. Are they so thick headed? Damn. The future of Sri Lanka ..which i cannot see is in the hands of such thick headed so called Sri Lankan politicians who convey themselves as Elite people of this so called flourishing community.
God save the thick heads!
